Creative Way to Practice Facts
· Dots card-We use these in the classroom all the time because the kiddos love them!
I have attached a picture of all the dot cards to the newletters! I made mind out of stickers and plastic plates but you could make them out of note cards and bingo stampers!
· Roll a dice to make an addition or subtracts sentence.
· What’s Under the Cup- One person choose some counters, displays them, and then puts them under the tub. Then another person puts additional counters on top of the tub. The 1st person tells the total number of counters.
· Sidewalk Chalk- Write facts in the Driveway or make a Human size number line to jump out the number sentence.
· Flash Cards are a good way to practice addition and subtraction facts, remember to say the number sentence out loud.
· Fact Families- If you know one facts…then you really know four!
Because our math instruction is so hands on students never internalize math facts. Knowing the facts quickly, without having to use your fingers, can make more complex math concepts much easier as well as build a stronger since of how numbers are related. Practicing these facts is a great things to do math for homework!
